Shell is one of the biggest fuel retailers globally and in DACH (Deutschland, Austria, Switzerland) region. 
Across DACH more than 2.200 Shell stations including motorways are being operated by some 500 retail partners with more than 20,000 employees, serving 1 million customers per day.
The DACH Retail Contracting & Procurement department consists of eight Procurement Managers, all reporting to Lead Procurement Manager DACH. The team is closely working together with local business functions – in this case Retail Marketing DACH as well as functional stakeholders as finance, legal and tax. Within the C&P organization there are strong links to global Category Managers.
We are looking for a Procurement Manager Retail Marketing, to join our team in Hamburg. This role covers the DACH market unit and potentially supports projects in the Europe / SA Region.
Purpose of the role is to contribute to the achievement of Shell Retail objectives and priorities regarding growth in the DACH Convenience Retailing business. Primary focus will be on driving the CP interface with the Supply Chain partner(s) in DACH.
In this role your key accountabilities will be to:
*develop & execute commercially competitive contracting & procurement strategies which meet the business demand while taking into account implementation of global strategies at local/regional level
*implement contractor HSSE practices in close liaison with contract managers / holders and owners
*understand commercial needs from internal business partners constructively challenging the business demand and/or procurement practices in order to drive value and efficiency
As a Procurement Manager you manage supplier relationship effectively and collaboratively drive continuous performance improvement and build and maintain a strong network in the market, being fully aware of supplier developments and opportunities coming up in the market. You ensure collaborative ways of working with global retail category leads.
Besides this, you provide coaching, support and guidance to other team members.
Special challenge in this role is an in depth understanding of complex supply chain contract(s) and understanding the value levers and identifying ways to monetize these levers in an environment with various interface management.
 
What we need from you:
In order to be successful in this role, you have:
*a degree level (Business / Finance) and / or proven long term comprehensive experience within CP and business
*3 years of experience in procurement food / convenience retail business
*experience and expertise in Supply Chain Management
*perfect English and German language skills
*MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Qualification or similar would be preferred
In addition to this, you are a self-starter with a highly tuned commercial acumen and curiosity with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver value from complex deals and proven experience in contract negotiations & complex tender evaluation.
You have a good understanding of strategic, technical, legal, finance, taxation and commercial issues.
You enjoy bringing external market insights into the conversation, understanding the retail business and using your influencing skills. You have a proven track record of commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to interact seamlessly and effectively with all levels of management.
