Postdoctoral position in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience at the CECAD, University of Cologne (TV-L 13, 100%)

Postdoc position is available in the group of Dr. Natalia L. Kononenko at the CECAD Excellence Center, University of Cologne, Germany. Our laboratory has a long-standing expertise in synaptic physiology and pathology with the strong focus on the role of membrane trafficking and endocytosis in brain aging and neurodegeneration. Research questions in our lab are addressed using cutting-edge genetic and molecular biology approaches (including CRISPR/Cas9 technologies), transgenic mouse models, in-vivo neuroanatomy techniques and live imaging.

Initial appointment for the postdoc position is for two years, extension possible. The tentative start is 01.06.2018.The application deadline is 1.06.2018.

Absolute requirement: PhD in molecular and/or cellular neuroscience. A substantial track record publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals will be considered a distinct advantage. Fluency in spoken and written English is a strong requirement. We are particularly keen to recruit a skilled molecular neuroscientist with experience in genetic mouse models, primary neuronal culture techniques and live imaging. Experience with mouse handling is preferred, while the knowledge of mouse neuroanatomy and stereotactic surgery is beneficial.

We expect an open-minded and very enterprising personality, capable of working in a collaborative research group! Ideal candidates should possess a good scientific appetite and a willingness to succeed!
