The position is available immediately until 30.06.2019. The possibility to extend the position until the 31.12.2021 is given, if the upon approval by the BMBF will extend the funds. The salary of the position is determined by payment group E 13 according to the collective labor agreement of the State of Hessia (TV-H).

Your profile:
We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated applicants holding, or about to obtain, a PhD degree. The applicants should possess a solid research background in computational biology or biomedical informatics, and a strong track record. Experience in cancer research will be an advantage. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in one or more of the following areas: analysis of MethylationEPIC array, gene expression array, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq data, integrative quantitative and post-quantitative analyses from multiple omics datasets, expertise in scripting in R. The applicant will establish analyses pipelines for high-throughput sequencing experiments, therapeutic gene panels in neuro-oncology and set performup meta analyses of multi-omics experiments in tumor biology within a multi-disciplinary team.

What we offer:
Our group has a long-standing expertise in the molecular, cellular and functional characterization of the role of the microenvironment in disease, with a special emphasis on microenvironment- and hypoxia-induced mechanisms in tumor biology. We work on a broad range of topics, primarily related to the functions of HIFs, PHDs, their regulators and downstream effectors in diverse aspects of cancer biology. In addition, collaboration possibilities and advanced training at the de.NBI (German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure) as well as the newly founded University Center of (Bio)Medical Informatics are available. Importantly, the activities of the computational postdoc will be integrated in the framework of the MIRACUM -Consortium (Medical Informatics in Research and Care in University Medicine,( Vice-Chair: Prof. Till Acker; ).
