Global Container Fleet Manager

to manage our container fleet with more than 6,600 tanks and pressure vessels. The Global Fleet Manager will develop and execute the strategy for the Lithium Downstream Business in alignment with the Global Business and Manufacturing strategy. This position will be located in Langelsheim, Germany, and will report functionally into the Product Management Group and disciplinary to the local Operations Director.


  • Size the fleets to ensure the business needs can be met 3 – 18 months out.
  • Coordinate the fleet requirements for 3 plants across 3 continents
  • Drive the Fleet Capex Plan to ensure capital projects meet business needs
  • Develop & issue fleet reports & KPIs, including scheduled fleet updates, overdue equipment reports, etc.
  • Standardize & improve fleet equipment safety, quality, & appearance.
  • Fleet DRAT representative.
  • Coordinates global regulatory questions with respect to technical and logistic requests
  • Maintain & improve Fleet Management databases
  • Provide primary support for Business
  • Serve as 1ERP process expert for Fleet Management
  • Maintain & improve SAP Fleet Tracking
  • Maintain Fleet certification & regulatory master data
  • Make commercial decisions (Returns, demurrage charges, CapEx business cases)
  • Push for customer returns, dormant/expiring tank moves, issue-tank moves.  Ensure overdue equipment is escalated according to policy.
  • Answer fleet-related inquiries for internal customers (Business, Sales, Logistics, CSRs, etc).
  • Regional coordination  with multiple plant sites
  • Perform SAP inventory reconciliations & standardization inspections  at plant sites
  • Works close with other fleet managers and fleet related departments across the whole organization
  • Works within corporate strategies and policy frameworks, designs, proposes and implements purchasing strategies, guidelines and procedures within broad principles set by the organization to meet requirements supporting short and long-term business needs


  • Minimum B.S. degree in Engineering, Science or Business or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant type of function
  • Strong functional knowledge of Container Management
  • Strong commercial acumen to effectively manage/reduce costs and anticipate market and internal opportunities
  • Financial management skills
  • Data driven, strategic thinker, addresses partner and internal / external customer needs
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system
  • Proficient User of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to participate and lead in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of leadership internally and externally
  • Ability to ensure acceptance by other departments within the organization (stakeholder management skills)
  • Travel on an as needed basis to interact with plants located in the US and Taiwan.
