In this role you will be responsible for and act as the dedicated global point of contact for Global Automotive GTM strategy within Autodesk. Working closely with Product Development,  the Sales Organization and Demand Generation & Marketing, you will utilise your combination of industry knowledge, business strategy and high-quality influencing skills to predict, plan and deliver a GTM strategy to ensure a competitive advantage for Autodesk within the automotive marketplace.

Responsibilities

Note: Fluency in English is essential, and German is highly preferable for this role

  • Driving decisions for industry segment focus & prioritization
  • Working with cross functional teams to lead portfolio positioning, including pricing and packaging decisions
  • Portfolio planning & rationalization for new & existing products and markets
  • Go To Market maturation planning for emerging offerings and future cash generators
  • Competitive Intelligence, guiding strategic decisions and ensuring competitive positioning and separation
  • External Ecosystem Planning, identifying strategic partners and developing relationships
  • Creates or collaborates on a common vision and coordinate activities among all groups in Corporate Marketing.
  • Work closely with Geo representatives in preparing implementation of vertical market strategies
  • Work with Creative Services group in the production of advertisements and collaterals etc.
  • Guiding Direct Marketing Services in the production of industry demonstrations and videos etc.
  • Interface with Sales force, Major Accounts, end user’s and dealers to obtain industry “feedback”
  • Coordinate preparation of Industry Training Courses, Sales Guides, Market Overviews
  • Work with internal and Corporate Marketing and Public Relations
  • Identify and follow through on Reference Account Program opportunities
  • Identify and initiate Industry Case Studies and Industry White Papers. At senior levels, pursue editorial opportunities in industry associations
  • Prepare Show Plan and Presentations for Industry Trade Shows and coordinate contributions by 3rd party application developers. (May be required to) give both public and internal marketing presentations
  • Instigate, lead or direct primary research initiatives, coordinate vertical markets surveys
  • Contribute to special projects as needed
  • Prepare forecasts to establish potential of existing and new specific vertical markets
  • Maintain awareness of new, changing and emerging technologies
  • Provide both industry and technical input to vertical market product specifications
  • Work with 3rd party developers to integrate and promote their applications into the industry specific vertical markets
  • Develop relationships with 3rd party developers to provide marketing leadership, integrate and promote their applications into the vertical market
  • Participate in industry associations
  • Organize suitable marketing events to promote Autodesk and 3rd party applications into the vertical market
  • Liaise with hardware vendors and Autodesk Strategic Marketing to develop joint marketing strategies where appropriate
  • Identify new market opportunities and partners to promote Autodesk into the vertical market


Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant field and industry experience, 5yrs minimum
  • BA/BS Required
  • Ability to think globally and lead and inspire a large tiered team
  • Consulting, relationship building, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Ability to analyze situations to balance organizational objectives, strategic policies and remain aligned with goals
  • Experience in developing and supporting competitive sales strategies
  • Proven track record of leading incremental sales success
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and building strategic relationships
  • Experience giving input on strategic decisions and drive execution on agreed goals
  • Regularly interact with internal and customer executives
  • Superior communication and problem ­solving skills
  • Proven ability to monitor effectiveness of policies, practices and processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S in relevant field e.g. Automotive, Industrial Design & Visualization, Engineering, Production Manufacturing
  • MBA, MSc
  • 5 – 10 years professional experience in Automotive Industry
