Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute on category goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting
  • Execute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet annual cost reduction goals.
  • Lead team and drive category and sub-category strategies to achieve a world class supply base for Harman
  • Develop and execute category strategies through alignment with Harman International Global Segment Leader, Business Units, engineering, quality, manufacturing activities
  • Coordinate the executive level engagement between procurement, supply chain functions and senior stake holders,
  • Responsible to manage and make critical decisions on all aspects of supplier relationship including contracts, commercial/pricing, supply assurance and conflict resolution for the Global Category
  • This person will be an escalation/communication point for Harman International and the supply partner
  • Identification, establishment and development of new suppliers, supplier relationship management, supplier portfolio management and supplier performance evaluation 
  • Identification, implementation and documentation of cost reduction potential
  • Lead the organization to behave with a sense of urgency, ensure that it is aligned globally and attracts the best talent.
  • Coordinate the executive level engagement between procurement, supply chain functions and senior stake holders within the BU.
  • Lead & sponsor the Global Procurement Change Management Electronics team which manages supplier induced part changes and/or discontinuations (PCN/PTN) within procurement globally

Required Skills:

  • Masters degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or related discipline. 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Supply Management, ideally in semiconductos/electronics
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to lead diverse global teams to achieve cost, quality, and time to market commitments
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that meet established goals and timelines
  • Epertise translating complex data into a clear and consise communication. Ability to communicate effectively at a senior executive level
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness to effectively leverage and focus resources across organizational/geographic boundaries.
  • Ability to gather relevant information systematically; consider a broad range of issues or factors; grasp complexities and perceive the relationship among problems or issues; seek input from others.
  • Build an effective team committed to organizational goals; foster collaboration among team members.
  • Encourage and empower others to achieve; establish challenging performance standards; create enthusiasm, a feeling of investment, and a desire to excel
  • Proficiency with procurement systems including sourcing, contract management and transactional systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint skills.
  • Strong presentation and writing skills.
  • Fluent English skills
  • Fluent German skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
