Design Engineer (m/f)
with focus on nuclear business

Your Job:

As Design Engineer you are responsible for the mechanical design of nuclear classified and non-classified pump types at tender / ORE stage using our existing generic product portfolios in order to allow accurate costing and general arrangement definitions. This includes e.g.:

  • Review of related and applicable nuclear specifications as well as conducting and coordinating required engineering activities
  • Conducting and coordinating design calculations to ensure the products‘ compliance to relevant nuclear or project standards and specifications
  • Creating and reviewing design studies and other documents for assigned products
  • Creating generic pump layouts and preliminary bare pump general arrangement drawings based on the layouts (scales and estimative modifications)
  • Clarification of specification exceptions for tendering to ensure proposals are fit for purpose
  • Estimation of engineering efforts for the case of order award together with internal groups
  • Clarification of scope of equipment, environmental conditions, characteristics and performances, design and manufacturing specifications in case of order award
  • Participation in bid clarifications, kick off meetings as well as client clarification meetings where required
  • Coordination of design reviews internally and externally (with suppliers)
  • Support of internal and external groups (e.g. giving presentations and trainings, supporting nuclear audits, clarification of technical questions)

    Your Profile:

  • Successfully completed mechanical engineering degree
  • Relevant experience (ideally within pump and / or nuclear business)
  • Good IT knowledge (MS Office, ideally 2D/3D CAD programs, SAP R/3)
  • Very good  written and oral English skills, minimum basic German skills
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work  independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and time management / organizational skills
